Cosmetic labelling requirements by country

Find official cosmetics labelling resources for the US, EU, Great Britain and other covered markets, with clear authority and source links.

Where to start

A cosmetic ingredient list, an open-jar symbol and an organic certification mark serve different purposes. Begin with the product classification and destination market, then use the responsible authority’s resource. This collection links to official cosmetics guidance and regulatory portals; it does not decide whether a formulation, claim or label is eligible for sale.

Choose the market before the symbol

The FDA Cosmetics Labeling Guide, EU cosmetics legislation and Great Britain guidance are separate starting points. The publisher and jurisdiction appear on every resource card, so a familiar-looking symbol does not become a substitute for the applicable source.

Check what a certification actually covers

Vegan, cruelty-free, organic and natural programmes have different scopes. The logo library explains the issuer and artwork route for each mark; those entries do not replace the cosmetics rules for the product.

Link the assessment to the artwork

Keep the product’s assessed information with the design brief. An example open-jar value or an artwork preview is not a value to copy onto another product. Use the source guide to locate the current document before approval.
