Where to start
Packaging obligations and the symbols printed on a pack are related, but they are not the same task. A material-sourcing certification, a disposal instruction and a packaging-registration obligation each have a different purpose. Start with the destination market and the packaging or product activity, then open the relevant official source.
Read the rule and its application context
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation resource links to the legal text and the Commission’s explanation. Use those sources together to check the relevant provision and its application arrangements; a regulation title alone does not establish one date for every obligation.
Keep registration separate from an on-pack mark
Germany’s LUCID resource provides a packaging-registration starting point. It should not be interpreted as a universal artwork approval or a requirement to copy a particular recycling icon onto a label.
Check the material and destination
The logo library distinguishes recycling, composting and responsible-material sourcing. Match any proposed mark to the assessed packaging and the programme’s guidance, and retain the official source with the packaging brief.
