Supplement labelling regulations by country

Locate official food and health-product resources for supplement label research. Compare authority scope and keep the correct product classification.

Where to start

The word supplement does not establish the same regulatory category in every market. Begin by identifying the product’s category and the authority responsible for it. The resources below include food standards, label guidance and broader health-product portals; some cover several product types and need a second step within the official site.

Confirm the product category first

A general food resource and a health-product portal are not interchangeable. Read the scope note on each guide, then follow the authority’s category-specific route for the actual product.

Separate label rules from testing marks

A sports-testing or supplement-verification logo communicates a programme’s scope. It does not replace the product information, claims assessment or other label requirements. Use the logo guide to check which programme the product actually holds.

Preserve the supporting record

Keep the product classification, chosen source document and artwork reference together. When a publisher provides a document library, verify the status and version of the document you select rather than treating the library itself as a rule.
